Every year during the late spring there would be a huge flood. The Ancient Egyptians were not afraid of the floods in fact they actually wanted the land to flood. When the Nile river overflowed causing the flood, in the fall when water levels turned to normal the flood had deposited thick and large amounts of fertile soil which helped the Ancient Egyptians grow lots of good crops to eat and trade. Geography also effected their Agriculture in other way. That way was that since Ancient Egypt was located right next to the Nile river the Ancient Egyptians were able to irrigate there crops during the scorching hot summers.
